Its funny, the whole way through building this one i was getting some serious noise. Like, almost the same level has my guitar signal. Was worried that this was going to kill my enjoyment of the pedal. But after i wired it all up inside the box and finished it off, the noise just went away! Full gain, i get nothing...cant even tell you what it was that stopped it. I didnt use shielded cable anywhere, but i did shorten the wires to the pots, laid the pots out exactly like in the build instructions (as your apparently supposed to do) and kept the input and output away from each other. Anyway, just thought i'd share that :-) good luck to you all.
PS -> Its a kick a$$ distortion pedal! :-)

yep i built this and did the same with the trim pots..

i also added a 0.47uf cap to the out put of the treble to
enhance the bacon effect.

i tried using a bn56473 for the output level but this
only made the cheese straw sound more of a imberoidical
volume..arghh but if you remove the nm7845 and replace with haddock fh5457
you end up with an almighty gain..cheers robin.

Try revell or humbrol model enamel , in the small tins , for the etched areas... umpteen shades to choose from...only £1.00 a tin means a choice of around five colours for the same cost as one spray can. Use a toothpick or cotton bud to roll the enamel over the lettering . Matt shades look good on plain alum.. Cool thing is you can apply different colours at same time without masking/waining for prev layer to dry..

I don't use pnp ...try kodak glossy ink jet photo paper , but printed in a lazer printer...no prob with edges , and a pack is huge enough to allow plenty of experimentation and wastage..

..rock on.

My S Hawk runs off a 9 volt battery. Unless it steps up the voltage to 18 like Keeley's TS9 Deluxe mod - http://www.ts9deluxe.com/. I'll have to crack it open to find that out.
