My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4477
I had previously posted about getting sound to work… the problem was that when you plugged headphones the laptop speakers would still be on and if you muted them the headphones muted… Today I dug around and found a simple solution that really works…
add the follwing line to the bottom of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
options snd-hda-intel model=lenovo

Since I really don’t give a f**k if you think I’m a nerd or not I thought I’d drop a line to say I’ve been enjoying Magic: The Gathering Online. I played when I was a teenager up until about 7 years ago… It’s very fun and nostalgic to play again.

Lectures on quantum theory by Hans Bethe. At age 93 he did a series of lectures for his neighbors at the retirement community. For once you can hear from physics expert without having to decode (as much) to layman terms.
